The Altra Timp 3 is packed with a significant amount of Quantic foam underfoot. This cushioning offers a blend of softness and resilience that gives runners the protection and durability that they need to stay out longer on the trails. The outsole has unique lugs that provide excellent traction on a variety of surfaces, and the upper has strong overlays for amazing comfort and protection from rocks and debris. Overall, the Timp 3, with its soft and bouncy ride, will be a great option for casual trail runs, long mountain adventures, and everything in between.

  • Quantic is a lightweight midsole technology that provides plush comfort with a responsive ride.
  • Inner Flex flex grooves system provides additional flexibility and cuts weight for increased performance.
  • Natural Ride System (NRS) design includes a more natural, foot-shaped last, zero millimeter heel to toe drop, and metatarsal-specific shapes in the outsole to assist in proper foot mechanics and allow for more natural foot movement.
  • Foot Shape Toe Box allows the shoe to move with the bones and tendons of the foot.

OUTSOLE

  • MaxTrac Outsole uses anatomically-shaped sticky rubber that prioritizes grip and durability on uneven terrain.

UPPER

  • Open Mesh creates a durable upper that provides optimal protection from trail debris.
  • TPU Overlay provides lightweight structure to secure fit around the top of the foot.
  • Gaiter Trap System is a velcro strap that secures trail running gaiters to the shoe, preventing debris from building up beneath the shoe.
